The Sandcastle Trust is a charity that supports individuals with rare genetic conditions offering services that support emotional wellbeing and resilience, reducing the risk of poor mental health.

HTH's partnership with The Sandcastle Trust
HTH have been working with Sandcastle Trust since 2023, when we first donated a FREE break in Eldo at Burnham on Sea for one of the families that they were supporting. As the charity's demand for breaks for those with more complex needs increased, and with a shortage of affordable options, in the Summer of 2025, we started to offer discounted breaks to the charity across all the HTH owned caravans.
The Sandcastle Trust now own 3 caravans of their own, the most recent being Sandy, a 3 bedroom accessible caravan designed in partnership by HTH and Beverley Leisure Homes and delivered to Crowhurst Park in the Summer of 2026.
By booking a stay in Sandy, you are not only getting to experience probably THE most accessible 3 bedroom caravan to be produced, but your payment is helping the charity to fund the annual running costs of this amazing holiday home.
Most of the families that get to stay in Sandy will be receiving FULLY funded breaks from The Sandcastle Trust, but we are honoured to be able to offer a small number of affordable breaks to those that fall outside the group that the charity supports. This will in turn help to make this amazing offering sustainable for many years to come, allowing families with complex needs to enjoy a stress free break.
If a family member has a rare genetic condition please contact The Sandcastle Trust directly as you may be entitled to a break supported by the charity. The charity offer lots of services not just the family respite service. All information is available on their website.

Sandy’s Accessibility AND FACILITIES
Parking and Access to Sandy
- On arrival you can unload at the bottom of a tarmac pathway close to the caravan and disabled parking is available nearby in the main car park..
- Access is via a 1m wide ramp towards the rear end of the caravan, at the top is the entrance to the caravan and large terrace. Entry to the accommodation is through one of two 75cm wide sliding door. A threshold ramp sits just outside the door.
Level access throughout
- There is smooth, level access throughout, with vinyl fitted to the lounge, kitchen area and master bedroom, a low pile carpet to bedrooms 2 and 3 and a non-slip vinyl floor in the wet room.
Internal Doors
- All internal doors are sliding doors, with a maximum opening width of 0.75m/75cm)
Master bedroom
- The master bedrooms are larger than you would normally find in a static caravan with a full size single profiling bed and a 4 foot double bed.
- There's 2 single wardrobes.
- There is also a full room coverage overhead H frame hoist system with in rail charging (no need to position boom or place controller into a holster).
- All Bed linen and towels ae provided.
Wet room
- For bathing there is a large wet room.
- Thermostatic controlled "super powerful" shower with extra long hose

- There is 1 fixed and one drop down rail by the toilet.
- The toilet seat is of the raised variety and sits 0.5m/50cm/1 foot 8 inches from the floor

- The kitchen area is accessible to wheel chair users with hydraulic adjustable height work top and wheel under sink.
